Atmospheric Monitoring System

MSHA Approved Atmospheric Monitoring System

The Beitzel Corporation Atmospheric Monitoring System (AMS) consists of a Server computer, Master Supervisory PLC Station and data gathering Outstations. Together they function to provide a central display of the status of the operating conditions which exist throughout the mine. The AMS system is an Ethernet based network which utilizes fiber optics as the communications backbone throughout the mine.

Some of the features of the system are:

  • Monitor and detect gas levels throughout the mine with proven Conspec gas sensors (CO, CH4, O2, H2S, etc. with Modbus communications)
  • Set Audio and Visual section alarm levels
  • Utilize your ACAD mine map as a background for familiarity and layouts
  • Drag-n-Drop gas sensors and outstations for proper placement
  • Real-Time data logging
  • Complete mine automation, monitoring and control (Belts, Take Ups, Power Centers , Fans, Pumps, Feeders, Longwall, Continuous Miners, etc . )

Beitzel Corporations AMS offers an integrated mine monitoring solution which allows for the safe extraction of underground mineral deposits. With the data obtained from the system presented in an easy to use format informed decisions can quickly be made. These decisions will attribute to better control of the mine operations, maintenance and personnel.

Because our AMS is an Ethernet based network with a fiber optics backbone, it can incorporate additional third party Ethernet configured systems such as IP Cameras, Belt Vision splice monitoring, Tag based Vehicle and Personnel Tracking, IP Telephone, etc.
